“Battle of the Stars” Featuring Lionel Messi has been cancelled

The highly anticipated “Battle of the Stars” soccer game featuring Lionel Messi and a big selection of the World’s most famous soccer stars has been cancelled today.

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) July 03, 2013
This event was scheduled for Wednesday, July 3rd at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as part of a World Tour. There have been many different versions explaining the causes of this cancellation that affects the fans that were expecting to witness this historical soccer match, the City of Los Angeles and the many sponsors who put their trust and brands behind the event.

All the sponsors were in shock when they heard the news. After a long day at the Coliseum setting up our tents and banners and seeing the excitement of all the sponsors: “the event had been cancelled” was the rumor everybody was saying. Throughout the day it was obvious the lack of organization and many questions were asked to the event representatives. “They told us that the promoter was in a meeting trying to solve some details. After over 5 hours they finally came out to let us know that the event was cancelled,” JJ Ocampo, Promotions Manager at Adriana’s Insurance Services Inc. stated.
"In all the years I've been doing live events, I have never encountered a situation like this. It's unfortunate because the only losers in this scenario are the fans that were looking forward to the game, and the City of Los Angeles," said Ralina Shaw - VP of Public Relations, El Padrino Spirits, Inc.

"After hours of trying to convince Lionel Messi's management team to fulfill their contractual agreement and come to Los Angeles, it is clear they have no respect for these fans and this market. We feel that this is a blatant attempt to defraud American citizens and businesses that sponsored this event," said Todd Graham - CEO, El Padrino Spirits, Inc.

"We have no words to express our disappointment and frustration. As a brand we invested many hours of work and thousands of dollars but most importantly, we put our name next to the events name, and in front of our community. We regret sponsoring this event and hope that the authorities penalize whoever is responsible of this mess. In representation of Adriana’s Insurance I want to announce that those who purchased tickets at our locations are welcomed to visit us for a full refund.” Ines Calderon - Marketing Director, Adriana's Insurance Services Inc.
